Human beings aren't meant to be structured. we're not!! And yet we spend so much time obsessing over and trying to bring structure to all the things that are connected to our lives. We also spend a vast amount of time, consuming content that one can only term as "Productivity porn". I know a lot about this because I suffer from an immense need to consume this kind of content. Nothing gets my attention that a clickbait title like " 10 ways to..." or " How I..." or my Achilles heel " the secret method..". My eyes spot one of these as I'm scrolling through content and BOOM, you'll find me 2 hours later going deep down the rabbit hole of "someone who used minimalism to make their morning ritual a productive launchpad for their passion project", I'm exaggerating but you get my point ( although that does seem like a very interesting idea for a video).
Well this is exactly how I tend to move. Multiple small things scattered with a big goal in the middle. I have struggled with being all over the place and feeling like I haven't achieved anything. However, the way you have put across this tendency seems like I am going ahead only. But, why doesn't it feel satisfactory then ? Or why don't I feel happy inspite of working pretty much in this fashion ?
Beautifully penned and voiced thoughts. 💯
This post reminds me of the book "Slack". Not it's THAT Slack. :) https://www.amazon.in/Slack-Getting-Burnout-Busywork-Efficiency-ebook/dp/B004SOVC2Y
