Unravelling the cluttered mind
The mind is often a messy blur. It finds itself with too many things to do. Too much to take on. Too many to-do lists and too many opportunities to latch onto. It's a constant stream into our minds that creates a cluttered, tangled thread rolled into a ball of possibilities with very little clarity. In moments like these, the solution isn't to dig deeper, pull at the thread in an attempt to untangle it all while more things get added and further tangled onto it.
The answer lies in taking a moment to step back and walk away for an instant ( or as long as you can/must). To let things wait and unravel on their own. Take away your focus so you might find some clarity. Because clarity doesn't come from tension, it comes from detachment. To remove the clutter in our minds ( or just minimise them), it is essential to go to the core of what we genuinely want to do. And we can only know this by weeding out the stuff we would 'like' to do, or the world tells us we must do or just things that we think would be 'cool' to do.
That is the core difference between areas of focus that are core to us and the things which seem like they would be good to do. It's the 'good to do' that crowds your life so much that they come to stretch, diminish and take away from what you are genuinely supposed to and want to do. So, the next time you find your mind cluttered... walk away for clarity. The world can wait while you clear your mind.
