Let’s start with a simple truth: many of us struggle to find purpose, stick to our goals, and follow through on things we know we should do—and, deep down, want to do. But why?
The problem is uncertainty.
We’re not sure if the path we’re on, the goals we’ve set, or the work we’re putting in will lead us to the life we desire.
Sound familiar?
But there’s an even deeper issue: we don’t actually know what we want. And the reason we’re unsure is because we spend too much time worrying about where things will lead and not enough time focusing on what we’re doing right now.
Here’s the truth: we can’t predict the future, and we certainly can’t guarantee the result.
What Can We Control?
The only thing we can control is what we do in this moment. If what you’re doing right now brings you satisfaction, clarity, and balance, the end result becomes less important, doesn’t it?
It’s not about chasing the perfect outcome. It’s about finding fulfillment in the present. And once you start seeing life through this lens, you’re not just satisfied with the now—you’re also building a foundation that sustains that feeling. This creates a powerful cycle: when you focus on the present, the long term becomes clearer. The dust settles. The horizon sharpens.
The Shift in Mindset
So, what do you do today?
Shift your mindset away from outcomes. Stop acting for the sake of a future result. Instead, make something great now. Your job is to create and do your best work—today.
And then let the outcome take care of itself. Don’t waste your energy on things you can’t control.
By focusing on the moment, on the process, and on doing your best with what’s in front of you, you’ll find that the future will unfold in its own way. You might just discover that the journey is far more satisfying than you ever expected.
P:S - It’s good to be back to writing on this substack :)
I made a video about a framework that can help with this kind of struggle and I’m dropping it below…
