1-1-1: What is the scariest thing you can do? Warikoo and finding core happiness.
1-Thought-Starter
What is the scariest thing you can do? And what does doing it unleash?
In today's world, for me as an individual, it's to sit in a room alone with just my thoughts. No scrolling, creation, writing, talking, planning, or doing anything but sitting and letting my thoughts flow. In many ways, the search for meaning isn't something you do out in the world. It's something you do while truly soaking in your thoughts. Listening to what you truly feel about yourself and, by doing that, revealing the power of your true mindset to the world ( and, more importantly, to yourself ). What often stops you from experiencing this is "productivity" and the fear of facing our mind.
I always need to do too much, to constantly have ten things going on ( and five waiting to pounce). And while that might seem like I'm an overtly productive person to the outside world, when I'm asked "How I manage to do so much", my honest response is "Barely". I scrape through most days, having managed to do too much and just about coming out for a breath of air. Productive, yet often mentally constrained. And that has been my significant learning in recent times. Your mindset isn't developed by controlling it. You need to unleash it in all its glory, or you could start by listening to it. You can sit on the sidelines and watch it do its thing.
Doing its dance of creativity and mindset magic for you to experience.. its scary yet deeply revelatory. It shows you what you can do if you let it just flow. And ever so often, I stop and pause, and my mind is unleashed. Its true nature is out there for me to experience without "productivity" and "time management" constraints. Because let's face it,
"Time management and multi-tasking constrain your internal flow of thoughts and ideas. Your mind cant be segmented and organised like a spreadsheet. It needs to be surfed like a wave in the ocean, allowing us to ride its peak."
1-Insight
I had a fabulous chat with Ankur Warikoo on a range of topics across happiness, motivation, inner-negativity, consistency, failure and so much more. Dropping the full audio episode below as well as a video clip to part 1 of my chat with him. ( I know it’s two things but it technically counts as one )
1-Recommendation
Dr.Rangan Chatterjee is one of my favourite podcaster discoveries in recent times and the amount of knowledge he distills across the spheres of science, nutrition, mindset and mental health is so invaluable to learn from especially for its deep rooted core of emotional depth. This conversation with him is a great way to dig into his mindset and insights from his new book.
