1-Insight
Haven’t we all seen ‘NO REGRETS’ stickers and tattoos? People embracing their decisions without regrets is most definitely a freeing thought. The world proudly displays its mantra of no regrets, but what if there exists a side to regret many fail to see?
I came across an interesting perspective in Daniel H Pink’s book The Power of Regret that may help you relook at the concept of regret and find something to learn from.

“Great minds think alike” is a proverb we’ve all heard at some point in our lives. What if I told you, there is some merit to it? I don’t mean that all great people are thinking about the same things, but there is a trait common to all.
On an episode of The Next Big Idea, Walter Isaacson describes the common link between the gifted minds of Da Vinci, Einstein, Steve Jobs, and more recently, Jennifer Doudna. According to him, these individuals never lost their curiosity of the world and the hunger to find answers. In his words, “they never outgrew their wonder years”, which ultimately helped them find answers to some big questions.
Another common trait, he said, was their ability to connect this curiosity to usefulness. To take the answers and to create things that would be beneficial to all. As a child, Jennifer Doudna wanted to know why Sleepy Grass curls up when touched, or how sea-shell patterns form. It was this habit of questioning the world around her that eventually lead her to winning a Noble Prize.
So keep the curiosity alive, creativity flowing and the imagination running wild!

Looking at the world through the lens of wonderment is an art in itself. It differentiates those who grow bored soon from those who are perpetually young at heart, somewhat curious and always ready to learn.
